Position Summary

This role reports to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and encompasses a range of monthly reporting and closing responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical reporting processes for our client. The position also involves the preparation of PowerPoint presentations for various key corporate and regional accounting meetings, spanning corporate functions in North America and Europe. Additionally, the role includes active involvement in quarterly and annual external reporting processes. As a vital member of the Corporate Accounting team, the role requires close collaboration with our client's Finance, Treasury, Shared Service Accounting Center, Human Resources, and Internal/External auditors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for multiple balance sheet and income statement accruals.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations and manage the completion of North America reconciliations.

  • Assist in quarterly SEC reporting by preparing footnotes and supporting documentation for 10-Q and 10-K external reports.

  • Play a critical role in creating PowerPoint presentations focused on balance sheet and accounting analytics, and actively participate in related meetings with senior accounting leadership.

  • Support external and internal audits, SOC-1 reviews, and respond to tax information requests.

  • Drive continuous process improvements by collaborating across functions to establish consistent best practices.

  • Undertake special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting.

  • Demonstrated achievements within the finance or accounting fields.

  • Public accounting experience or a CPA qualification (or working towards one) is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP technical accounting.

  • Results-oriented with problem-solving capabilities and the ability to develop and implement solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to proactively communicate financial implications to internal stakeholders and customers regarding transactions and system changes.

  • Experience with international operations is an advantage.

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP systems is required.

  • Familiarity with Hyperion or BPC is a plus.

  • Experience in the automotive and/or manufacturing sectors is preferred.

  • Exposure to international operations is beneficial.
