The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) Division is seeking an Experienced Equipment and Tool Engineer (Level 3), to support our team at the Argon ST Smithfield facility in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Our team will continue supporting the growth of the electronics and electrical manufacturing facility which supports our defense programs from seabed to space.

Position Overview:

The Experienced Equipment and Tool Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to join a group of production engineers standing up multiple long term high visibility programs by providing tooling expertise and input. This role will include identifying tooling solutions for developmental programs by leveraging commercial solutions or custom designs as required and will also, be responsible for identifying calibration or verification requirements for said tooling.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify tooling requirements for diverse program portfolio with varying levels of customer requirements.

  • Maintain site calibration program and support internal and external auditing activities throughout year.

  • Serve as site tooling subject matter expert.

  • Support site Industrial Engineering and Equipment Maintenance personnel in developing maintenance requirements for on-site equipment.

  • Support various continuous improvement and root cause corrective action activities as Tooling and Equipment subject matter expert.

  • Participate in new business development efforts.

  • Work under general supervision.

Work Authorization:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. confidential clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • Experience or coursework in identifying tooling requirements in a production environment.

  • Experience or coursework in 3D Modeling and 3D design.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience or coursework in calibration of mechanical tooling including torque tools and hand crimp tools.

  • Experience or coursework in AS9100 quality management system requirements.

  • Experience with ANSI Z540, ISO 10012, ISO 17025, MIL-STD-45662 or other industry calibration standards.

  • Experience with Boeing PS and BSS specifications regarding tooling and calibration.

  • Experience with TipQA Gauge and Tool module.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (Level 3): $90,100 – $121,900.
