What will you do
The Network Automation Engineer is responsible for performing detailed analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance activities. You will work with business partners and technology teams to design or modify procedures to solve complex problems or improve existing procedures:
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement network automation solutions to improve network efficiency and reduce manual intervention
Develop and maintain network automation scripts and tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network automation issues
Stay up-to-date with emerging network automation technologies and trends
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network automation engineers
Collaborate with business partners and technology teams to identify and solve complex problems.
Develop and deliver project solutions on schedule and within budget based on department methodologies.
Research and validate innovative solutions applying appropriate methodologies.
Provide status reports, progress reports and documentation to department management and business partners.
Ensure client satisfaction by providing high quality work and timely service.
Act as a subject matter expert in network automation.
Stay abreast of industry changes through education and training.
Educate and negotiate to achieve business strategy.
Integrate system capabilities, and utilize appropriate resources.
3-5 years of supporting and understanding a large enterprise network.
3 years of demonstrated success designing, implementing, and maintaining network automation solutions to streamline network operations and improve service delivery quality.
3 years of writing code (primarily Ansible and Python, API) to automate various network tasks such as device configuration, change management, monitoring.
Strong programming skills in Python, Ansible, Terraform, Restful API, YAML, JSON.
Experience with network configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet and Open-source Tools such as Grafana, Kafka, Prometheus, Netbox
Experience with network monitoring tools, such as Logic Monitor, Nagios, SolarWinds, or Zabbix.
Experience with setting up a Data Lake and AI/ML.
Knowledge of networking in the area of WAN, LAN, WLAN, DC, SDN, Cloud.
Present network automation solutions and platform to peer engineers and network leadership.
Create and publish network automation framework/library.
Good interpersonal skills and an ability to clearly communicate ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly terms.
Highly self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and outstanding customer service orientation
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
6-8 years of experience in network automation, network engineering or related field
Strong programming skills in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages
Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPN
Desired Qualifications
Strong understanding of network automation technologies and tools
Experience with programming languages such as Terrform or Python
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to deliver project solutions on schedule and within budget
Ability to stay abreast of industry changes through education and training
