Citigroup Transactor - Trade Asset Distribution & Risk Defeasance, Vice President in Singapore, Singapore

Trade is part of the Services franchise and is one of the market leaders in providing Trade products to our corporate, PS and FI client base.

An integral part of Trade’s growth strategy and balance sheet management is our market leading ability to risk defease and distribute Trade assets.

The Trade Asset Distribution & Risk Defeasance team manages all activities related to the distribution, syndication, sell-down and insurance of risks related to the full suite of Trade products that Citi offers, and the process of transferring / selling these risks, in order to achieve credit, cross-border, or balance sheet relief.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Distribution and risk defeasance of all trade asset classes: The person will be responsible for identification of the different avenues to defease risk related to a trade asset and execute the most optimal form of defeasance based on business needs

  • Understanding of the different avenues of defeasance available including distribution, insurance, multilateral programs etc.

  • Internal alignment with country / product / sale counterparts on distribution requirements

  • Understand underlying Trade transaction and to communicate clearly to investors.

  • Communicating with investors on transactions that need to be distributed

  • Defeasance feedback / assessment: Provide up to date and timely feedback to the origination team on market pricing and appetite for trade assets. Conduct market reads for specific deals where necessary

  • Understand and negotiate legal documentation with counterparties (investors, insurers, multilaterals among others)

  • Ensure that all asset sales adhere to Citi policy standards

  • Foster a strong "one team" mentality and interact with key business stakeholders

  • Contribute to the development of internal distribution systems and technology

  • Understanding of global and Regional specific trade flows and key players

  • Develop client management skills (interacting with investor banks in the international market and as Senior Transactor on execution of the complex Trade transactions)

  • Gain exposure in undertaking & executing complex and structured trade transactions

  • Develop skills for assessing major business drivers and implication for business

  • Develop skills on market intelligence and application to business decisions.

Key Skills and Experiences Required:

  • Working knowledge of trade products

  • Experience in client / investor relationship management

  • Previous distribution/syndication experience would be ideal

  • Excellent client management and communication skills

  • Project management abilities for execution of complex and structured trade transactions involving multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Innovative and creative

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver against tight deadlines

  • Self motivated and Comfortable working in unstructured environment

  • Develop strategy and carry through to execution

  • Good team worker

  • Quick to adapt to constant change

Qualifications required:

  • At least 5 years banking experience

  • Educated to graduate level at a minimum

  • MBA or equivalent preferred
