Protective Industrial Products Warehouse Supervisor in Sharonville, Ohio

JOB SUMMARY

The role of a Supervisor at West Chester Protective Gear is to support Managers and hourly staff with the day-to-day floor operations in the warehouse. In this role, you will support the following: safety, training, inventory control, production, and housekeeping. Supervisors must be approachable, professional and courteous to all employees and are expected to answer all questions and assist in problem solving. Supervisors are required to learn all aspects of the warehouse operation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment for all employees

  • Facilitate job training for current warehouse employees and new hires

  • Support improving company culture and always maintain a positive attitude

  • Inventory Control: work to support inventory integrity in your assigned area. All inventory should be in a home – inventory is everyone’s responsibility!!

  • Ensure work output/production meets goals and objectives

  • Interpersonal Skills: all communication with employees should be courteous and professional. Explicit language should not be used on the production floor or in the office area

  • Remain flexible regarding working arrangements and operational changes – be adaptable

  • Generate excitement and willingness from the team to ‘Go the extra mile’ to meet/exceed department goals

  • Work closely with Manager to ensure smooth workflow throughout the department

  • Ensure that your team is working within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures

  • Participate as an effective and willing team member to achieve individual and team goals.

  • Manage department-specific housekeeping objectives

  • Drive standard operating procedures and continuous improvement across all departments

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-8 years of Distribution & Logistics experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with inventory management

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Strong problem solving skills
