Amazon Technical Program Manager, Amazon Merch on Demand in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to tackle complex and ambiguous problems that span numerous systems and organizations. They will be a highly visible leader that will own communication, coordination, and execution of a cross-team program vision. They will work with senior product and engineering leaders to define strategy and requirements. They will design, coordinate, and execute technical solutions that scale globally. Managing numerous complex systems and organizations, they will be expected to make appropriate trade-offs between business and technical constraints, clearly communicate goals, roles, and responsibilities. Working cross-functionally, they will identify and secure commitment from tech teams across the company for new initiatives, driving consensus on the technical approach.

The ideal candidate will have a well rounded-technical background as well as a history of leading large programs end-to-end. They will own the team efforts to coordinate and unify road maps and technical direction across multiple complex catalog systems. They will also identify opportunities to converge overlapping technical efforts, and drive the long term strategy. Maturity, high level judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success.

About the team

Amazon Merch on Demand is a rapidly expanding Amazon full lifecycle business that provides a services for 1) Content Creators to create, publish, promote, and sell graphic merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, PopSockets, and more; 2) Amazon to moderate the content and manage the listing process; 3) Customers to discover, configure/customize, and purchase graphic merchandise; and 4) Associates to print and ship that graphic merchandise, on-demand, with all the Prime-eligible benefits that Customers expect. Our Customers get great graphic merchandise, and our Content Creators get a generous royalty.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
