Blue Origin LLC Sub Assembly Supervisor - Weekend Shift in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Integration Engineers dedicated to building, assembling, and integrating major subassemblies for launch vehicles. From a technical aspect, you and your team will be responsible for the translation of engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into operational steps and processes to produce fully functional hardware. Special Mentions: Weekend Day Shift: Friday - Sunday (5am - 5:30pm) This position is Friday- Sunday and is scheduled for 36 hours, but the employee will receive an 11% weekend shift pay uplift. As such, the position is paid the equivalent of the 40-hour Monday-Friday shift. Relocation Provided. Additional responsibilities include: Manage personnel including coaching, monitoring labor hours and overtime. Prioritize support needs across two work centers. Work hands-on with the team to produce production and development hardware. Partner with manager and shift counterparts to manage throughput and support production milestones. Improve area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvement. Promoting and inspiring teamwork and good employee morale. Work with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, support development tests and contribute to process development. Providing status updates on hardware deliveries at daily schedule meeting. Develop training and ensuring team members' training records are accurate. Ensure all products meet quality standards in accordance with released engineering. Maintain stock of consumable items. Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated. Ensure proper 5S and FOD controls are in place and adhered to. Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years' experience in aerospace or related field. 2+ years' experience leading a team of direct reports. 3+ years hands-on experience with at least one of the following: structural assembly, valve assembly, tube bending or orbital tube welding. Ability to use standard tools and basic fabrication equipment. Knowledge of drawing and work order review, familiarity with inventory and issue tracking systems. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and remove roadblocks. Ability to document and maintain accurate records. Lean manufacturing training and experience Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and rapidly changing priorities. Work Friday-Sunday 12-hour shifts (5:00 AM to 5:30 PM) with potential for overtime requests Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Must be physically able to: Climb ladders and stairs. Lift and carry 25 lbs. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Project management experience Experience troubleshooting aerospace or military hardware. Compensation range for onsite WA applicants is $43.37-$59.67.
