This position will directly impact the history of Lunar exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable Lunar surface exploration. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will beresponsible for developing and supporting MK1 Lunar Lander Vehicle Test Bed (VTB)/HIL system & harness manufacturing processes. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware & harnesses ready for test. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules. You will create, interpret, and modify work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe Lunar Transportation. Responsibilities: Develop procedures, techniques, work instructions, materials and processes, supply chain, nonconformance reporting and resolution, and obsolescence issues. Review & Release harness drawings for build Support in mechanical design of VTB system, assemblies & racks Procure Hardware & support in configuration management of VTB hardware & harnesses. Closely manage quality through the build sequence of hardware, throughout the assembly process. Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide final approval for manufacturing. Design proper material handling to protect hardware throughout the build process. Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build process. Define and support repair and rework activities. Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions. Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years direct manufacturing/manufacturing engineering experience. Proven ability to develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define assembly methods. Demonstrated ownership in your area of responsibility. Clear understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T. Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
