Amazon Sr. Financial Analyst - Global Media and Entertainment, FP&A in Seattle, Washington

Amazon.com is seeking a Financial Analyst for a high visibility role supporting Amazon's Global Media and Entertainment (GME) leadership team. Opportunities abound for impactful analysis, process improvement, and scope expansion. Primary responsibilities will include management and reporting of key business metrics, and dive deep to deliver strategic and insightful ad hoc analyses to our leadership. This role requires a candidate that is eager to learn about the drivers of the global GME businesses (Prime Video, Amazon Music, Twitch, Audible and Amazon Games) and comfortable interacting with business and finance leaders. The right individual will have exceptional financial modeling and writing skills and the ability to Think Big about opportunities and challenges facing the business.

This candidate must have the ability to influence the decisions of partners through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The ability to think and act quickly under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities effectively is a must. A proven track record of superior financial and strategic analysis, delivering recommendations based on this analysis and presenting to executive leadership is a requirement for this role. Successful candidates will have the initiative to anticipate demands of senior-level business and finance leaders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 2+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
