SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably. We are looking for a Propulsion Lead for a spacecraft. As part of a hardworking team of diverse of engineers and technicians, you will apply your extensive experience in space propulsion to stand up a propulsion team and deliver propulsion systems for the next generation of orbital space vehicles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work will include the complete life cycle of the system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, procurement, assembly, verification, and operation. You will work with both Blue Origin groups and external suppliers to develop, procure, build, and test the system. As the project lead for your system, you will manage project schedule, budgets, tasks, risks, and assignments, and prepare for and support project and technical reviews. You will work as the lead of a team of engineers to complete project objectives.Official people management is currently not required, but is may be an opportunity as the team grows. Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area 8+ years of directly applicable experience in propulsion or fluid systems Experience analyzing applicable propulsion systems or components Experience with the components of propulsion disciplines Experience working with suppliers Experience in the build and test phases of a project Ability to work well, collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment Familiar with either agile or waterfall project management Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
