Title: Senior Landscape Architect Location: Seattle, WA Job Type: Regular Full-Time What's the Opportunity? We are seeking a senior level Landscape Architect with more than 8 years of experience overseeing, coordinating, and supporting project designs during all stages of development. The successful candidate will have demonstrated familiarity and/or experience with ecological based, multi-benefit planning and design for natural resource, habitat restoration public access, and recreation projects. The candidate will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support the management of small to mediumsized projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and/or west coast. The position offers the opportunity to work with Anchor QEA's staff of engineers, scientists, and planners as well as interfacing with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, our clients, and the public. The position may require travel to conduct field work; participate in public, client, agency, Tribal, and stakeholder meetings; and conduct visits to project sites. Responsibilities: Manage small- to medium-sized projects, including developing and tracking project schedules, managing and tracking project budgets and reviewing monthly invoice tracking, developing project scopes and fee estimates, and managing internal and external teams. Lead project teams through all phases of project (design, planning, and construction) Conduct site analysis and conceptual design. Perform restoration design (such as coastal, marsh, estuary, wetland, river, stream, and floodplain habitat restoration) including grading, materials, and planting design. Incorporate watershed and regional fish and wildlife recovery goals and objectives into the design to maximize habitat function. Prepare and coordinate construction document packages including drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates with limited oversight and direction Develop and document constructable design details. Write technical specifications, including researching and developing specifications for new products or materials. Conduct construction administration during project implementation Prepare graphic presentation materials for meetings with clients, stakeholders, and the public. Research, organize, coordinate, and write reports, memoranda, and permitting documentation. Support competitive business development pursuits under direction of senior leadership and/or principal, including preparing statement of qualifications and participating in interviews What Are We Looking For? Ideal candidates will have the following: Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution 8+ years of experience in landscape architecture, restoration design, and project management An understanding of and experience with coastal, freshwater, and estuarine systems Fluency in the following software programs is required: AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, SketchUp and MS Office Suite The ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing priorities, work in multidisciplinary teams, and work independently Experience with federal, state (Washington, Oregon, and/or California), and local environmental regulations, and with the permitting process for projects with aquatic resources Excellent writing, organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills Competency and experience in irrigation design preferred by not required Licensed or pursuing a license in Landscape Architecture Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred by not required What Can You Expect?
