Job Information

Amazon Principal, Program Manager, Global Executive Development in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon’s Global Executive Learning & Development team is seeking a talented, driven, customer-obsessed Principal, Program Manager to manage scalable and innovative learning experiences for worldwide executive leaders. You will help enable communities of learning, curate on-demand resources, facilitate peer learning, and scale coaching best practices. You will work alongside a team of experts as you bring your program management expertise to scaling, maintaining, and sustaining learning solutions for all current and future leaders.

Key job responsibilities

You are deeply passionate about developing executive leaders. You are an experienced program manager who can juggle complex global organizational programs, alongside timely requests. You consistently look beyond what is done today, to what could be. You know how our executives think and work, and build solutions tailored to them that can easily be used in their flow of work. You have a consultant mindset; you know the value of partnership and collaboration and work closely with other executive learning and development experts, and line teams, to enable solutions. You love to wear multiple hats and jump in on various projects—you can be found automating a process to scale a solution more easily one day, to jumping in and creating a video series the next. You stay abreast of learning best practices and current business trends. You comfortably collaborate with speed and transparency in a hybrid and virtual work environment.

A day in the life

• Lead efforts to go beyond the learning programs offered today to understanding what else leaders need—creating a system of support pre, during, and post the formal learning events.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and learning professionals to inspect, modify, and/or create communities, resources, and forums that best complement designed learning solutions.

• Facilitate, communicate, and activate learning experiences—assist with virtual and off-site meeting logistics and administration, host focus groups, lead learning summits, create mechanisms to bring leaders together for peer learning.

• Derive relevant insights, trends, and themes from large amounts of data and develop summary reports for consumption by senior stakeholders.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

• Proven ability to build, manage, and improve learning programs and projects in a fast-paced, global organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field.

• Ability to deliver independently, with limited guidance; self-starter, strong drive, bias for action and result oriented.

• Experience developing content for a global leadership audience.

• Experience as a leadership coach, or working alongside coaches.

• A problem-solver that drives team(s)/partners to meet goals; accelerates progress by driving timely decisions, able to spot risks, ask the right questions, clears blockers, escalates appropriately, and makes trade-offs: time vs. quality vs. resources.

• Effectively lead through ambiguity when business problems or program strategies may not be well-defined.

• High level of accountability.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in communicating, managing and influencing at all levels within a matrix environment.

• Excellent business writing skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences.
