As part of a small team the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for facility construction/modification support, facility operation, maintenance, for rocket engine and space vehicle testing activities. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: Test facility construction, operation and maintenance Fabrication and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing Reviewing, editing and following Maintenance Procedures Operation of test facility systemsand environmental test equipment Installation and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation General trouble shooting of instrumentation, valves, leaks, compressors (Nitrogen/Helium), etc Working with engineers on design concepts/improvements and development of test facilities and systems Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations/maintenance Providing design feedback on the test stands and supporting systems Flexibility to support maintenance as required - this may mean shift work or extended hours based on testing needs Safe working practices: Safely working with hazardous chemicals and high pressure systems Demonstrate a strong bias for safety in operations Qualifications: Work on-site at Kent Test Operations supporting maintenance and testing Experience with pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems Test facility construction, operation, and maintenance Demonstrated ability to work withcompressors, electric motors, hydraulic systems, environmental test equipment Instrumentation, sensors, and electronics Standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment Ability to read and interpret drawings - P&IDs, fabrication drawings Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Hydrogen Peroxide, RP, and cryogenics Knowledge in the use of computer programs such as AutoCAD or Creo Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc) and pressurized system safety Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware MIG/TIG, orbital welding experience Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $29.03 - $40.65 Other site ranges may differ Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
