Nucor Environmental Lead - NSSEA in Seattle, Washington
Basic Job Functions:
The Environmental Lead is responsible for assisting the Environmental Engineer in leading and developing the Environmental Operators and Technicians team. The Environmental Lead must prioritize safety above all other considerations and be able to manage the team of Technicians and Operators, as well as scheduling and overseeing contractors. They must have a general understanding of our environmental compliance obligations and assist to ensure that compliance tasks are assigned and completed as necessary. They must also be able to understand and troubleshoot complex processes on a system-wide basis to include all aspects of environmental equipment including pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical components and direct continual improvement projects for this equipment. This position reports to the Environmental Engineer.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policie s, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.This job is pay grade 8 - $20.67 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a mechanic or technician in a steel mill or similar industrial environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Leadership experience • Experience planning and leading projects where it was necessary to manage several people including contractors • Experience training others either through hands on techniques or classroom direction. • Operational experience with Water Treatment and Air Pollution Control systems.
