Starbucks Coffee Company Data Scientist in Seattle, Washington
Data Scientist:
- Extracts data from various databases; performs exploratory data analysis, cleanses, massages, and aggregates data.
- Employs scaling & automation to data preparation techniques.
- Determines analytics approach to solve business problems; incorporates machine learning algorithms where appropriate.
- Connects insights to business decision making options and next steps testing or research opportunities.
- Understands business initiatives and serves as primary analytic resource in discussions with business partners to define business questions.
- Drives creation of final insights package and recommendations; leads presentation.
- Transform model outputs into formats that are digestible to the end users through visualization, clear tables, and/or thoughtful presentations.
- Assist technical and non- technical end users in how to leverage and interpret the analysis.
Telecommuting permitted up to 100% from anywhere in the U.S.
Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $146,622 to $162,300 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in a data analytics or related role.
Must have 2 years of experience in at least one of the following Modeling & Machine Learning techniques: regression, tree models, survival analysis, cluster analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection, or association rules.
Must have 2 years of experience in at least one of the following Data ETL: Teradata, Oracle, SQL, Python, Java, Ruby, or Pig.
Must have 2 years of experience in at least one of the following Analytic Languages: R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, or Python.
Must have 2 years of experience in building complex data sets from multiple data sources.
Must have 2 years of experience in communicating insights from data and models with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Must be willing and able to travel domestically up to 5%.
