Amazon Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Infra Legal in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a junior attorney with a strong transactional and regulatory background to support Amazon Web Services' (AWS) dynamic and rapidly growing global trade, transportation, logistics, and supply chain businesses. This role will be primarily responsible for supporting AWS's transportation, logistics, supply chain facilities, and reverse logistics teams to support AWS's global data center footprint.

You will be part of a global team responsible for counseling AWS on a broad range of transactional and regulatory issues covering transportation, logistics, and supply chain. You will serve as legal owner supporting your business teams on high-value transactions where you will structure, draft, and negotiate complex agreements. You will provide legal ownership and advisement to AWS business teams on strategic projects and programs. This role will also provide cross-functional support to other teams within AWS Legal including global trade, health and safety, sustainability, product safety, and environmental compliance.

Key job responsibilities

Principle duties include: (i) drafting and negotiating complex, bespoke, and high-value contracts; (ii) providing day-to-day legal advice on a variety of transportation, logistics, and supply chain issues; (iii) owning and implementing strategic initiatives and projects while working cross-functionally with other legal teams; (iv) developing and improving legal review and engagement processes; and (v) resolving pre-litigation disputes, compliance challenges, and other transportation, logistics, and supply chain legal issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of legal experience

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

  • Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

  • Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
