This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers you willapply your systems engineering, fluids and propulsion expertise, natural leadership and organizational skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the bold missions at Blue Origin. Passion for our mission and vision is required! You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities include but not limited to: End-to-end ownership of the Fluids and Propulsion design and verification requirements Integrate between fluids propulsion subsystem and overall system-level vehicle design, analysis, software, operations Support the development and execution of component and subsystem tests Coordinate plan for verification test and analysis Spearhead the organization and preparation efforts for gate reviews Ensure timely updates and communication of system-level architecture diagrams, schematics Creatively guide the team to balance the objectives of high-velocity development program while meeting the intent of standard system engineering processes Tackle the diverse range of fluids propulsion design engineers' tasks like leading trade studies, component design/integration, 1st order analysis, test support, and supplier interface as the opportunity arises Minimum Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar Experience working on rapid development teams Understanding and passion for Systems Engineering principles and practices such as requirements definition, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, verification, and validation, creating and managing interface control document (ICD), configuration management, and systems engineering management plan (SEMP) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Participate, as needed, in technical and programmatic customer interactions that require your expertise Work inter-dependently with other project members to drive progress at the program level Preferred Qualifications: M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical subject area 5+ years of experience in fluids design/space propulsion/cryogenic systems experience or a relevant and fungible experience Experience with requirements
