       Position Definition: TheBilling Coordinatorshall be responsible for all activities involved in the CLIU #21 ACCESS Billing Program. Relationship: TheBilling Coordinatorshall be directly responsible to the Application and Data Supervisor. Qualifications: Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent related field or equivalent related professional experience.

  • Minimum one (1) year experience with medical billing, preferred.

    Skills/Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates a proficient understanding and utilization of Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages for use in the MIS Department.

    Authority: TheBilling Coordinatorwill have the authority to perform all functions listed below in accordance with established policies and procedures. Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty/responsibility at acceptable standards. In accordance with both state and/or federal law, reasonable accommodations will be considered upon employee request. Essential:

  • Exercises discretion and judgment to verify compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, School-Based Access Program, and Pennsylvania Department of Education and provide recommendations to the CLIU to keep in compliance with each.

  • Verifies children who may receive ACCESS services (e.g. Audiology, Hearing Orientation & Mobility, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech, Psychiatric, Social Work, Psychological, or Nursing services) are eligible for medical assistance coverage.

  • Follows compliance monitoring system to review documents submitted for audiology clinic billing completely and accurately.

  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with departments (Human Resources, Transportation, Special Programs and Services, Management Information Systems, and Business) for data collection and creating, modifying, and streamlining procedures.

  • Maintains computer database to assure tracking system of provided services is accurate and complete.

  • Files documents related to each case.

  • Processes claims through the ACCESS Program.

  • Coordinates the activities of the support staff assigned to assist with the program.

  • Trains new and contracted providers in their requirements in the process.

  • Meets yearly with all providers to refresh their requirements and update changes.

  • Manages and coordinates the Administrative Time Study quarterly.
