Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values the Physical Therapist Sr is responsible for providing specialty physical therapy assessments and treatments to patients as evidenced by a high degree of expertise in a given area or areas. Provides training and/or supervision to staff physical therapists. May supervise or be responsible for a particular program such as inservice coordinator outpatient cardiac rehab program NICU follow-up program and/or day to day operations of a particular area of the department. May have specialty certification in physical therapy field such as NDT orthopedics wound care etc.

Qualifications

Hospital Based: 10+ years of experience; evidence of ability to function with a high degree of independence and competence. Manages audits feedback on evaluations and precepts. Mentors champions projects and teaches classes. Evidence of extensive training in a given specialty area. Specialty areas may include but not be limited to: neuro rehabilitation orthopedics pediatrics cardiac rehabilitation hand rehabilitation pain management and work hardening. Homecare Based: 10+ years of experience. Participates in 2 of the 3 following ways: committee participation precepts champions projects Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians hospital departments and the general public. Demonstrates knowledge of teaching and leadership skills including a proficiency for conceptual thinking motivating teaching principles and problem solving. Demonstrates advanced working knowledge of the principles standard practices procedures and equipment utilized in the department. Ability and willingness to actively participate in departmental and hospital programs. Demonstrates self-motivation and ability to achieve results through good organizational skills and prioritization of work. Knowledge and understanding of pertinent standards and regulations including DHS and The Joint Commission. Ability to gather comprehend and interpret data for Quality Improvement activities. Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment. Ability to mentor/coach student interns or oversee their clinical experience. Ability to be flexible with caseload within any given day as needed for the benefit of the department. Promotes P.T. services in the community as appropriate. Current California license in Physical Therapy. Current CPR.

Pay Range

$49.20 - $71.34 /hour
