Primary Purpose
The Tender Specialist is responsible for managing the organisation tender management processes and procedures. This includes public sector and corporate new business prospecting, managing individual tender submissions, while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and customer industries policies and laws

Tertiary qualifications, preferred BCOM and credit qualification
Fleet Management preferred
FAIS qualification preferred
Credit Fundamentals preferred

- Minimum 5 years experience in the fleet or banking industry

Duties and Responsibilities
New Business Development
Scan the current Fleet Management contracts at all relevant Govt and Corporate web sites.
Determine the contract end dates and short list them by Financial Year.
Determine the fleet size per potential customer in the current and following financial year.
Categorise fleet potential by vehicle type i.e., PC, LCV, MHCV, HCV.
Estimate the budget based on new list price (excluding discount).
Obtain Auditor General Reports for the shortlisted.
Further shortlist based on the financial position of the entity.
Present the shortlisted clients to Credit Committee to determine appetite.
Revert to the tender process as outlined.
Achieve targets in line with ROCs by driving and securing quality business price for risk.
Gather and submit information about competitor activity and market development.
Maximize bank profitability through cross selling specifically focusing on value adds and acquisitions
Finance
Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for the public sector department based on strategic and business growth objectives.
Control and manage costs and income in line with departmental and bank requirements
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Collaboration and Sales Management
Cross-sells VAF's products as well as maximizes fees recovered on the portfolio to the extent that profits are maximized, and customer needs are met.
Ensures effective presentations and proposals to customers with the aim of growing the portfolio.
Maintains ongoing Fleet and banking to ensure skills and expertise are developed.
Prepares and motivates pre-credit forum and credit committee papers
Provides customers with feedback and manages client expectations and experience
Risk and Compliance
Draft, implement and maintain applicable policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure optimal functioning of the tender department
Conduct research of various industries, best practice methodologies and change in markets thereby identifying risk to adjust areas in the business timeously
Continuously develop and maintain a tender document library, develop and maintain tender-related templates
Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation.
Complete all compliance training within laid down timelines.
Ensure accurate preparation and signing of all legal agreements and documents.\
Managed and facilitate all stakeholders in terms of response time and input on client contracts and approvals
