Eaton Corporation Jr. Manufacturing Engineer in San Luis Potosi, Mexico

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Jr. Manufacturing Engineer.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

A. Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products and continuous improvement.

B. Support production activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Analyze problems and supervise corrections related to machine capability and production rates (OEE). Maintain and improve current manufacturing processes to produce parts to specification.

B. Actively participate or champion in the continuous improvement process of the plant. Reduce high-risk priority numbers in JSA analysis and manufacturing PFMEA´s. Implement cost-savings in manufacturing to reduce waste including corrective actions to make an immediate impact to business results.

C. Train and inform cell technicians on current process techniques and new manufacturing concepts to ensure a safe operation, high quality standards and productivity. Train and educate operators to optimize use of new and transferred equipment. Initiate and maintain process sheets for each step of the manufacturing process. Evaluate cell technicians based on the manufacturing requirements according to OJT levels.

D. Define max/min supply of all related items to equipment, such as spare parts and other supplies.

E. Comply with requirements of the Quality System. Implement mistake proofing tooling and process. Complete runoffs of new machinery and tooling reaching quality standards (MSA, R&R, calibration process etc.).

F. Champion multi-disciplinary teams in activities related to manufacturing issues.

G. Establishes and identify best layout distribution.

H. Directs the Increased use of systems approaches that integrate engineering, automation, ergonomic & environmental issues, and information technology in the workplace.

I. Implements, promotes, and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control, and administer risk and danger in own area.

J. Promotes the company’s mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton’s ethics and values as well as quality policies.

K. Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE.

A. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic, or manufacturing engineering required.

B. 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in the automotive industry.

C. English language at a conversational would be a plus.

D. Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and manufacturing processes.

E. Demonstrated knowledge and training in assembly controls, automation, mistake proofing techniques.

F. Skills at interpreting mechanical drawings and basic use of CAD systems (Solidworks, AutoCAD).

G. Knowledge of machinery functions (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical operations).

H. JDE knowledge focuses on Manufacturing Processes.
