Sr Buyer Indirect Materials

Location: San Luis de la Paz,Gto.

Opportunity

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Supervisor Purchasing, the Sr Buyer is responsible for contacting vendors and analyze each vendor considering the capacity, service, quality and price in order to satisfy the needs of internal clients. Constantly update a list of available vendors and materials.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Contact as many as possible vendors to request for quotations and general information of their products, service and price.

  2. Compare quotations, the service, quality, prices and references to get the best option.

  3. Always looking for fulfilling the goals of the company regarding the required quality, quantity,timely delivery and the lowest cost.

  4. Receive all the purchasing requisitions and verify the information included and each form.

  5. Expedite and follow up all the purchasing orders.

  6. Evaluate present and potential suppliers from the standpoint of quality, service and price.

  7. Prepare reports monitoring purchasing activity and vendor performance.

  8. Prepare end keep the following files: new or potential suppliers, purchasing orders based on promised delivery dates.

  9. Keep specifications for the required products and services by asking others departments.

  10. Perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

  11. Comply with the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position

Skills/Requirements

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Supervisory Relationships:

1.- Reports to the Supervisor- Purchasing Indirect Materials.

Organization Relationships:

1.- Frequent contact with Manufacturing Supervisors, Foremen, Plant Engineers and

Maintenance Supervisors.

2.- Frequent contact with Administrative Personnel.

External Business Relationships:

1.- Frequent contact with supplies and vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Preference Bachelor´s degree

EXPERIENCE:

Preference two years’ experience as indirect materials buyer, experience in negotiating with suppliers and familiarity with manufacturing operations.

FORMATION:

Preference Bilingual and Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based software applications.
