They design, build, code, test and automate. Software Engineering manages the development of our suite of tech products to ensure all pharmacy benefit management services are up to date and bring the best quality of service our clients need.As our Software Engineer, you will be responsible for participating in the analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and automatization of critical business processes for Abarca and its internal and external clients. You will also automate processes that allow for the exchange of data between Abarca and all external partners and clients. The fundamentals for the job…Collaborate with analysts and designers to develop and initiate new software applications and tools and automate business processes.Research, document, and implement user manuals and guidelines, as well as program requirements and specifications.Write, translate, and code software programs, applications, scripts, testing frameworks and tools according to standards and specs.Run and monitor performance tests on new and existing software to fix mistakes, isolate areas to improve, and general debugging.Apply diagnostic analysis to test results and deliver solutions to critical areas.Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and appearance of company website and web applications.Collaborate with peers across the organization to support the delivery of new applications or processes.Interface with industry standard database data sets such as Medispan.Implement solutions that adhere to regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, HITRUST or other security related compliance programs.Participate in on-call rotations for release and product support activities.What we expect of youThe bold requirements…Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant hands-on experience may be considered.)3+ years of experience in Software Engineering and Development.Experience in using Object Orient Languages such as C++, C#, or JavaExperience with Angular, or similar technologies such as React or Vue.jsExperience using SQL Databases such as MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL, or similar database technologies.Experience using tools for Software Versioning Control such as Git, SVN, Mercurial, or VSTSExperience building Service Oriented Architecture applications, MVC, and REST APIExperience with and understanding of Object Orient Principles and Design PatternsExperience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)Knowledge in containerization.Excellent oral and written communication skills.We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site workdays (Puerto Rico Location Only)Nice to haves…Experience with Healthcare, Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Benefit Management industries, Medicare Part D, or CMS regulations.Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).Physical requirements…Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site workdays (Puerto Rico Location Only) At Abarca we value and celebrate diversity.
