The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Field Technician I to support our government customer located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and organize field equipment and supplies in the vehicles for field work.
Coordinate the work of other technicians.
Provide general support to staff in the field and laboratory.
Assist in obtaining samples of specimens/insects in the field under supervision.
Assist in care of insects under supervision, including the maintenance of mosquito colonies and other procedures involving care of live specimens.
Assist in the maintenance and storage of supplies and equipment.
Collect and transfer data from captured mosquito specimens and other environmental data on paper or electronic forms in handheld data collection devices (tablets).
Assist in educating residents.
Assist in the fabrication of mosquito traps and other devices used in surveillance and control activities.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High School Degree Required
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to pass a National Agency Background Investigation (NACI).
Must be able to obtain a common access card (CAC).
Candidate must provide proof of vaccinations required for lab entry.
