Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Internal Auditor in San Francisco, California. As part of this team, your role will primarily involve the development and execution of compliance audit plans, risk assessments, and internal control testing. This position will also require you to lead research into compliance issues and trends, making recommendations for process improvements, and liaising with external auditors.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development and execution of a flexible, risk-based annual compliance audit plan.

• Perform internal control testing and maintain a current compliance audit universe.

• Participate in enterprise IT risk assessments, applying critical thinking and analysis.

• Communicate risks to internal stakeholders at all levels.

• Lead research into compliance issues and trends, formulating recommendations and solutions.

• Provide practical advice for corrective action, innovation, and continuous process improvements.

• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams, securing management action plans for remediation.

• Monitor remediation progress and timelines.

• Evaluate new compliance processes, policies, and systems that improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

• Develop productive business partner relationships and interact with key management personnel.

• Participate in internal audit team wide compliance training on topics of need.

• Liaise with external auditors in connection with compliance process and controls discussions.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in Internal Auditing or a related field.

• Proficiency in Audit Programs, Audit Findings, Auditing, and Audit Reports is essential.

• Demonstrable experience in Compliance, FERC, and NERC standards is required.

• Understanding and familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles.

• Knowledge of CFTC and FCPA regulations is required.

• Must have experience in Data Privacy and Renewable Energy sectors.

• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Must have a proactive approach to identifying and addressing audit issues.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proficiency in using audit-related software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, or CISA is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or other advanced degree is a plus.

• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
