Harris & Associates Cost Schedule Engineer 1 in San Diego, California

The Cost Schedule Engineer 1 will work under the guidance of the Program Controls Manager and Supervisor, to forecast cost at completion, process project budget records of change, construction change orders, scheduling, and quantifying cost risks for education projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Run reports, review data, and ensure that costs are assigned to the appropriate cost center in conformance with district policies and procedures

  • Analyze payment applications, allowance payment records, contractor contingency payment records, change orders, field work orders, contractor schedule of values (SOV), district SOV, and contractor’s backup for accuracy and completeness

  • Assists the Program Controls Supervisor with Earned Value Management to quantify cost and schedule risks for district projects

  • May be assigned construction management support tasks to support cost related actions such as change orders, payment applications, allowances, field work orders, and final cost reconciliation

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or construction management or related discipline or comparable experience

  • Minimum one year of relevant cost or scheduling experience

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with MS Project, Primavera Project Management (P6) or Primavera Project Planner (P3), Oracle Primavera Unifier, E-Builder, Procure, Prolog, PMWeb, or similar project management tools is preferred

  • Primavera Project Management (P6) Fundamentals training certificate obtained within three months of hire

  • AACEI affiliation, PMI affiliation, CMAA CMIT affiliation is a plus

    Compensation and Benefits

    The salary range for this position is $75-90K. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
