State of Utah - Jobs Right of Way & Utility Designer (Non-Eng in RICHFIELD, Utah

 

The Utah Department of Transportation is looking to fill a Right of Way & Utility Designer (Transportation Project Manager) position in Region Four,located in Richfield,Utah.

*Principal Duties *

As a Right of Way & Utility Designer,you will:

  • Design and prepare biddable plans,engineers' estimates,and special provisions for construction projects.
  • Perform complex ROW/Utilities calculations.
  • Manage and coordinate ROW/Utilities assignments related to roadway design and other roadway projects and programs.
  • Be assigned activities with or without the support of a staff,which will not report to the engineer directly.
  • Support projects or programs,as well as provide skills as a qualified ROW/Utility expert.
  • Manage and oversee consultant design packages with respect to ROW and utility designs.
  • Assist with preparation of surplus and ROW packages.
  • Assist with utility design and agreements for roadway projects.

*The Ideal Candidate *

The best qualified candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree,or higher,in a related field with four years of equivalent experience or eight years of related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of the principles,theories,and practices of Civil Engineering,ROW,and Utility.
  • The ability to read and interpret maps,plats,charts,plans,blueprints,and electrical schematics.
  • The ability to perform scientific and technical research.
  • The ability to use engineering data processing application programs.

Preference may be given to the following:

  • Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor or working towards a license.
  • UDOT Right of Way experience.

  • Working Conditions:  Risks found in the typical office setting,which is adequately lighted,heated and ventilated,e.g.,safe use of office equipment,avoiding trips and falls,observing fire regulations,etc.
  • Physical Requirements:  Typically,the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however,there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile,etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
  • Employee may be reassigned to a different location as deemed necessary by the Region Director / Group Leader.
  • Division of Human Resource Management rules regarding promotions and transfers apply to current state employees.
