The Façade CAD Technician utilizes specialized software to create detailed fabrication drawings and management of manufacturing data. They engage in the workload of ongoing projects to ensure the successful completion of complex projects by leveraging technology, adherence to schedules, and by collaborating with a highly skilled team environment.

    Essential Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Drafting and Design – Create detailed drawings and Bill of Materials in Solid Works, ensuring accuracy when built on the fabrication shop floor. Drawings will include assembly drawings, part drawings, and accompanying fabrication tickets.

  • Reports – Create cutting and drilling reports for products produced by the Fabrication Facility,

  • Interpretation – Interpret project contract documents, architectural drawings, and specifications. Reviewing the shop drawing details looking for curtain wall systems.

  • Coordination and Collaboration - collaborate with engineers, and co-workers to understand project schedules and meet milestones and objectives. Communicating any potential issues and pivoting to meet any changes in priorities or deadlines.

    Requirements of the job:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a construction related field or equivalent work experience in commercial construction, architecture, engineering, or steel construction.

  • Proficient in the use of Solid Works or similar software to create part and assembly models, part and assembly drawings, and Bill of Material schedules.

  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2D and 3D.

  • Proficiency with DriveWorks software is a plus

  • Experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

  • Self-starter, detail oriented, and flexible.
