Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Audit Specialist in the professional services industry based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The role primarily involves participating in audits and compliance reviews, identifying risks and controls, and developing recommendations for improving business functions.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct audits and compliance reviews, leveraging knowledge of business processes, risk assessment techniques, and accounting standards.

• Identify potential risks, test controls, and analyze findings to develop recommendations for improvements.

• Develop detailed audit plans, programs, and specific tests for evaluating control areas.

• Maintain ongoing relationships with key business management to monitor business functions.

• Contribute to the preparation of audit reports and train others in audit and risk assessment techniques.

• Act as a lead reviewer in smaller, less complex audits, monitor the status of corrective actions, and validate completed corrective actions.

• Utilize tools such as CaseWare, Microsoft Office Suites, and SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley to carry out job functions.

• Utilize skills in Accounting Functions, Auditing, Audit Plans, Cash Activity, and Internal Control.

• Maintain professional knowledge by earning professional certifications such as CPA, Certified Internal Auditor. Requirements

• 3+ years of work experience in audit or property-casualty business.

• Thorough understanding of risk assessment, accounting, SOX requirements, and auditing principles.

• Advanced skills in MS Office and familiarity with Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs).

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred.
