About this Role
Probst Electric is growing rapidly and looking to add a Fleet Director of Operations to our team, to help support our exciting growth.
What You'll Do
Assists Fleet VP in creating the annual budget.
Responsible for the overall operational success of the fleet department
Oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of all company-owned equipment.
Develop and maintain efficient shop performance standards (standard repair times (SRT’s) KPI’s, procedures (SOP’s) and policies.
Oversee's the repair, service, and maintenance of vehicle allowance owned and leased vehicles.
Manage staff members and complete employee assessments
Recommend vehicles meant for replacement and arrange for necessary disposal or auction and develop and maintain a company asset schedule and all rolling stock.
Maintain adherence to company operations, safety policies, and develop/amend SOPs as needed.
Assist Safety with the deployment of Verizon and LYTX programs
As needed assist in the investigation of motor vehicle accidents.
Be a trusted and strong contributor to the senior management team.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements through FMCSA, OSHA ETC.
Participate in WIP, Staff meetings, foreman meetings, crew visits, and all other calls or meetings requested by the management team.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Maintain employees work schedule and overtime.
Strong construction background that will aid in the deployment of the correct equipment to job sites
Communicate directly with construction operations and project managers to determine current and future needs
Responsible for all shop and field mechanics & locations with the support of supervisors.
What You'll Bring
Valid driver's license
Relevant training and/or certifications as a Fleet Manager
5+ years in a senior Fleet Management or comparable role
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Finance preferred
High school diploma or equivalent is required
3-5 years of experience of maintenance operations.
Experience in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Must be comfortable using and learning modern technology including Microsoft Office and associated programs; fleet management software experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skill
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage with multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong work ethic with high personal standards for quality of work
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Analytical mindset with strong business acumen
Effective problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changes
Proficiency in multitasking and effective task prioritization
