Quality Assurance Engineer (Production and Manufacturing Focus)

What You'll Do:

  • Drive Product and Process Quality: Utilize risk-based and predictive statistical data analysis to lead quality enhancements within production and manufacturing, ensuring sustainable corrective actions and preventative measures are in place.

  • Lead Lean Continuous Improvement: Champion and facilitate cross-functional quality improvement events to promote Lean methodologies and Continuous Improvement initiatives in the manufacturing environment.

  • Resolve Quality Issues: Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to investigate and resolve quality issues throughout the production lifecycle, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

  • Implement Inspection and Testing Protocols: Develop and enforce efficient inspection and testing protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of product quality.

  • Manage Supplier Quality: Oversee supplier quality engineering investigations and development events, ensuring supplier processes meet our stringent quality standards. This role involves travel to various supplier locations.

  • Drive Practical Process Improvement: Lead Practical Process Improvement (PPI) activities to drive continuous enhancements in product quality and manufacturing processes.

What You Bring:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Quality Assurance or equivalent experience, particularly within a production or manufacturing setting.

  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the medical device/IVD regulated industry, with in-depth knowledge of ISO13485/FDA QSR Part 820 requirements, especially in a manufacturing context.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, with a strong ability to apply predictive statistical data analysis in a production environment.

  • Continuous Improvement Skills: Proven track record in Lean Continuous Improvement methodologies, with practical experience in driving manufacturing process improvements.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel approximately 25%, including UK, European, and international locations, to engage with suppliers and oversee quality initiatives.
