Job Title: Drafter

Job Description

We are currently hiring for a Drafter to support a program that works on weapons systems that go on nuclear submarines. The Navy has a very large effort called SWS (Submarine Weapon Systems) and our client has a program under it called SSP (Strategic Systems Program).

The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and maintain design requirements through 2-dimensional drawings and 3-dimensional models according to standard practices, industrial standards, and engineering markups. The candidate will support existing staff by providing artifacts for distribution and assisting the lead drafter in reviewing the work of junior drafters/modelers.

Hard Skills

• Experience with current and former drafting standards

• Experience in design and drafting of mechanical and electrical products with Microstation

Soft Skills

• Ability to support team members

• Detail-oriented with review and oversight capabilities

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Rockville, Maryland and some days remote.

Work Environment

Engineering Heavy Environment with state of the rate Digital Engineering lab
