SUMMARY

Participate in planning and manage the activities of the kitchen, including sanitation; safety; and training.

STATUS: Full-time

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Food & Nutrition Services

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, as scheduled by department.

ATTRIBUTES
  • American National Standards Institute accredited Food Safety Certification within 3 to 6 months of hire (i.e. ServSafe, NRFSP
  • Associates degree in food service preferred
  • 5 years leadership experience preferred
  • 8 years experience in food service, ideally within healthcare environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the activities of the General Kitchen Associates regarding adherence to procedures and customer satisfaction.
  • According to all departmental policies, recruit and schedule all General Kitchen Associates maintaining quality and budget.
  • Maintain highest level of customer Service as outlined by departmental and RGHS standards.
  • Represent the department on weekends, holidays and evenings in the absence of Administrative Staff following hospital and department vision.
  • Maintain and review all QI information insuring department stays within all HAACP Guidelines.
  • Patient/Resident visitation following up on complaints and checking for acceptability of service quality and quantity of food.
  • Participate in planning and follow through of training of all kitchen staff.
  • Know and follow the New York State Sanitation Code, Part 1, Section 14.
  • Coordinate all monthly preventive maintenance and sanitation inspections and follow through with all Food and Nutrition Service Equipment for a safer operation.
  • Order and maintain sufficient inventory of cleaning supplies and back up parts for all Food and Nutrition Service equipment.
  • Make recommendations and carry out disciplinary action for the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $55,500.00 - $66,300.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
