Responsibilities

The Mayo Clinic Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking a board-certified/eligible Spinal Cord Injury physiatrist to join an established subspecialty practice. Clinical practice opportunities are available across the continuum of care with an emphasis on further developing a comprehensive outpatient practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as practicing physician in interdisciplinary teams for acute care consult service, CARF-accredited 36-bed rehabilitation unit, and CARF-accredited comprehensive outpatient program

• General physiatry clinic coverage

• Typically requires 4 weekends of hospital call per year

• Clinical supervision and education of residents and medical students

• Option for spasticity management including botulinum toxin injections and phenol injections depending on candidate experience and/or interest

Our practice includes highly collegial relationships with other departments and true multispecialty care putting the needs of the patient first. Mayo Clinic Rehabilitation Research Center provides opportunities and support to develop and continue research endeavors. In addition to an outstanding PM&R residency, brain injury fellowship, and pediatric rehabilitation fellowship, the medical school and numerous therapy programs provide a unique opportunity to train the next generation of rehabilitation care providers.
