The Software Product Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for new and existing robotic software products, responsible for defining the products to fit market opportunities, managing the introduction new products, and providing product support to internal and external customers for new and existing robot and PC software solutions. This role offers the opportunity to bridge current capabilities with future customer needs while building significant expertise in FANUC’s software-based solutions and tools.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Identify opportunities for new products, define the new products to fit the market opportunities, manage the introduction of the new products and provide product application support for products once they have been introduced.

  • Perform market analysis or other related analysis intended to identify opportunities for new intelligent products or required modifications to existing intelligent products.

  • Develop requirements for new software products.

  • Develop and execute test plans.

  • Develop marketing tools and pricing recommendations.

  • Work closely with FANUC R&D to specify and test new products.

  • Maintain assigned software portions of the FAC Online Corporate Price List (CPQ), a critical communications channel within FAC and to our integrator partners.

  • Identify and support beta/lead users and other activities required as a part of a successful product introduction.

  • Evaluate the feasibility of using new or existing products in various applications; provide customer demonstrations and support proposal development and related activities required to successfully apply our products.

  • Identify software product concerns and limitations and manage the resolution of all critical issues.

  • Create and coordinate training course materials in conjunction with the FANUC America Corporation training department.

  • Execute small product developments or support our internal development groups in the execution of larger development efforts in conjunction with our marketing organization.

  • Develop technical marketing tools or programs.

  • Demonstrate technical expertise, leadership, and direct/guide others as required.

  • Support Marketing and Sales teams as required.

    Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum five years of experience with demonstrated success in a Product Management or related position.

  • Prior experience in one or more of the following areas: Robotic simulation, custom robotic interface development, code development on applications for industrial robotics, IIOT technology.

  • Have awareness and understanding of applicable standards (IEC, ISO, RIA, etc.)

  • Experience in modern communication interface protocols & robotic control methods (MQTT, ROS, etc.)

  • Experience in network architecture and cyber security approaches.

  • FANUC robot and PC software experience, KAREL, ROBOGUIDE, TP programming, etc.

  • Have developed and demonstrated an ability to identify and define robot product problems or needs.

  • Define plans to address those problems or needs, and successfully manage the execution of the developed plan.

  • Must have demonstrated capability in computer and/or robot programming.

  • Analytical, critical thinking skills – ability to identify problems, define plans to address problems, and successfully manage execution of the plans.

  • Proven high level of competency in Windows, MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint / MS Teams, and other web-based applications.
