This role shapes, implements and monitors digital and automation solutions for the Global Biotherapeutics Discovery organization. In close collaboration with the leadership team, scientists, RIX, Digital IU and IT, the incumbent will be responsible for deploying automation technologies, leveraging data analytics, and enforcing data governance to drive business process improvement and innovation The incumbent identifies synergies by connecting across initiatives and identifies and addresses unmet digital and automation needs. The incumbent leads strategic cross-functional digital/automation and Operations focused initiatives / projects and provide in-depth technical expertise as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Digital Automation Portfolio -In close collaboration with RIX, Digital IU and IT, establish and maintain a comprehensive Global Biotherapeutics Research Digital and Automation Initiative Portfolio. Monitor progress within the portfolio towards the Global Biotherapeutics Research digital and automation ambitions.. Responsible as a super user for the oversight of robotic platforms and will ensure that all automated processes align with the organization’s goals and regulatory standards. In addition, this role requires a hands-on blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to data integrity and governance.

• In collaboration with the Digital IU, IT and Research scientists, develop, drive, and deliver innovative digital and automation solutions to the Research organization. Identify synergies by connecting across initiatives and identify and address unmet digital and automation needs.

• Project Leadership-Lead selected strategic cross-functional digital/automation/process programs / projects.

• Identify and track key operational metrics to ensure continued realization of digital/automation/process gains and identification of refinement opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with all data protection and data retention policies governing the storage, use and sharing of non-clinical and clinical data. Ensure compliance with all record retention policies throughout the entire life cycle of digital and automation workflows. Ensure appropriate considerations for maintaining data and process integrity.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate AI insights into the biologic’s discovery pipeline, fostering a data-driven approach to innovation.

• Staying abreast of the latest AI/ML advancements and continuously seeking opportunities to apply them within the biologics field to push the boundaries of what's possible in drug discovery.

Requirements

PhD in a) Life Science or related field relevant for Drug Discovery or b) Digital Sciences, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Drug Discovery or MS in a) Life Science or related field relevant for Drug Discovery or b) Digital Sciences, with minimum of 10 years' experience in Drug Discovery

Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)

• Demonstrated expertise in IT systems and digital and automation solutions in a scientific environment required

• Strong knowledge of the Drug Discovery process in the pharma/biotech environment preferred

• Strong technical proficiency in scripting languages and software applications relevant to laboratory automation.

• Proven experience in data management, analytics, process automation, and data governance.

• Strong understanding of database structures, data modeling, data mining techniques, and data governance frameworks.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on upholding data governance

• Project leadership and change management experience required

• Strong analytical skills required

• Excellent communication skills required

• Experience with various scripting & programming languages preferred

• Self-driven, attention to detail, conscientious, high sense of accountability

• Strong “influence without authority” skills

• Excellent team player

• Agile mindset and ways of working

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Compensation Data

This position offers a base salary typically between $135,000 and $232,000.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here.
