Robert Half Transfer Agent Operator in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Accountant in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for processing daily financial transactions, maintaining accounts, and effectively communicating with clients. This position operates within the telecom industry and requires a high level of organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Process daily mutual fund purchases, redemptions, transfers, and exchanges

• Respond to telephone and electronic inquiries, providing excellent customer service to shareholders, broker/dealers, and prospective customers

• Conduct shareholder account maintenance tasks, including opening new accounts, making address changes, setting up statements and web users, changing registrations, etc.

• Provide backup for daily reconciliation of escrow accounts

• Track and post commission data weekly

• Process quarterly and annual tax reports

• Perform administrative office functions, such as filing and imaging, copying, processing mail, etc.

• Manage internal operations

Applicants must have proficiency in the following skills: Accounting Software Systems, Acomba, Cl Programming, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, IBM AS/400, About Time, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Check Processing. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in an entry-level accounting role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Acomba

• Knowledge of Cl Programming and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and About Time software

• Ability to perform various accounting functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in Check Processing

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
