Amentum Quality Control Inspection - Supervisor (QCIS) in Richland, Washington

The Commissioning and Operations (C&O) Quality Control Inspection Supervisor – Low Activity Waste (LAW), Balance of Facilities (BOF), and the Analytical Laboratory (Lab) (LBL) reports directly to the C&O Quality Control Inspection Manager. The C&O Quality Control Inspection Supervisor will support the system/facility commissioning and transition to Direct Feed Low Activity (DFLAW) operations contract. The Supervisor will maintain the C&O quality inspection program in support of maintenance, cold/hot commissioning, and operations activities. The Supervisor coordinates the C&O QC Inspection staff and provides oversight of processes, procedures, implementation, inspection planning, training, qualification, certification, and documentation by and of C&O quality control inspectors.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Supporting and coordinating development of C&O quality program documents (e.g., QA Inspection procedures) necessary for C&O activities.

  • Coordinating the activities of C&O Quality Control Inspectors to ensure appropriate quality inspection coverage for WTP, including LBL facilities, etc.

  • Conducting training and evaluations required for assigned C&O QC Inspectors, as necessary.

  • Performing duties as a Quality Control Inspector to ensure appropriate quality inspection coverage for WTP, including LBL facilities.

  • Assuring oversight in the proper use of processes, procedures, and their implementation.

  • Personal ownership for completion of training, obtaining and maintaining required qualifications and certifications, inspection planning and inspection execution for assigned activities.

  • Attaining and maintaining training and qualification required for quality control inspections such as electrical, instrument and control, mechanical, welding etc. as identified in the quality program and specified by the Quality Control Inspection Manager in individual training profiles.

  • Reviewing and/or completing (including documenting) inspections in design adequacy testing documents to validate attributes comply with criteria specified in the document. Inspection plan elements include attributes to be inspected; description of inspection method or process to be used; identification of organization responsible for the inspection; acceptance criteria; measuring and test equipment (M&TE) used to perform the inspection is of the correct type, range accuracy and tolerance, and is within calibration period; methods to record inspection results; and the identification of any mandatory hold points.

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination and assignment of Quality Control Inspector (QCI) functions including QCI training and qualifications

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, science or equivalent education or specific training in area of expertise. Initial Quality Control Inspector capabilities include evaluation of education, experience, training, and either test results or capability demonstration. (NQA-1-2008/2009a, RQMT 2, 302).

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in implementing DOE Quality Assurance requirements (DOE O 414.1X), or equivalent, in accomplishing work at DOE facilities or equivalent (e.g., Demilitarization, Nuclear Power, Chemical processing).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site .

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $112,835.92 - $178,251.96 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
