PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $134,200.00-$164,000.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $104,200.00 - $194,000.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As a Sr Reporting & Analytics Data Engineer, you'll play a vital role in BECU’s success story. Your expertise in data infrastructure and management systems will become the backbone of our performance management, executive reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives. You'll leverage your skills to develop and optimize data sources, advocate for data best practices, and ensure privacy standards are met. You will become a creative problem-solver, a collaborative team player, and a champion for our data-driven culture.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design & Develop: Create and maintain tables, views, stored procedures, models, and hubs to store Reporting and Analytics data assets.

  • Communicate Complex Data: Design process and data flow diagrams; communicate frameworks, security, protocols, and external dependencies to various stakeholders.

  • Innovate Solutions: Research and design market-leading solutions that align with business strategies through technical mastery and understanding of strategic business drivers.

  • Mentor & Guide: Provide mentorship and technical guidance across all levels of the analytics division.

  • Access Management: Set up and maintain user access to Reporting and Analytics databases and data assets.

  • Performance Evaluation: Analyze usage statistics on Reporting and Analytics data assets and recommend timely upgrades to meet growth requirements.

  • Monitoring & Alerts: Develop reporting tools to monitor run times, check automation statuses, and trigger alerts to the Reporting and Analytics team.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Create and maintain thorough documentation and validation processes to meet Enterprise Risk Management requirements; recommend and implement process changes as needed.

  • Governance Representation: Represent the team as a designated steward in Data Governance meetings.

  • Flexible Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, informatics, applied mathematics, or equivalent work or educational experience required.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in big data, data warehouse environments (on-premises and cloud), and detailed knowledge of data architectures required.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in ETL functions and BI (Business Intelligence) systems/tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Alteryx, & Informatica required.

  • Proficiency in reporting and using visual data analytics tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Google Data Studio required.

  • Demonstrated effective project management and communication skills required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the financial services or tech industry preferred.

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP) preferred.
