Responsibilities

The Resource Group, a subsidiary of Ascension, is a business transformation services organization that specializes in resource and supply chain management. This role falls within The Resource Group's Strategic Sourcing Solution which focuses on contracting for the supplies and services that meet the criteria determined by caregivers. This group also continuously develops innovative approaches to contracting to further drive savings. Information about the responsibilities for this role can be found below:

  • Works collaboratively with a Sourcing associate counterpart to form category negotiation strategies

  • Oversees the engagement of end-users and The Resource Group leaders in aligning contract opportunities with the mission and strategies of sites of care

  • Responsible for life cycle and contract portfolio management

  • Reviews and analyzes market trend data from multiple sources to provide continuous improvements for contracting strategies

  • Regularly reviews contract performance and collaborates with Integration counterparts located onsite to maximize contract benefits

  • Manages Contract Design Agent(s) resources through assignment of work, evaluations, and coaching as applicable

  • Leads the collection and coordination of market research and expert guidance to assist end-user groups in solution development, contract strategies, and cost-saving opportunities

  • Present findings to members of Decision Teams and Affinity Groups and collect feedback on the professional and clinicals acceptability, along with overall values. Repeat the process until end-users have agreed upon acceptable suppliers.

  • Discovers and discusses contracting implications, challenges, and other potential details with Sourcing agent counterpart prior to negotiations

  • Facilitates communication of clinically or operationally relevant information such as related product recalls/alerts, clinical benefits and educational opportunities, contract announcements and other communication strategies

  • Represents The Resource Group in interactions with the supplier community

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

  • A Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of professional experience (healthcare supply chain, project management, or other relevant experience)
