PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $164,200.00-$200,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $127,900.00 - $237,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As the Director, Strategy & Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of BECU’s Member Digital Experience (MDX) division. Your deep operational knowledge and strategic vision will drive the design and implementation of innovative programs, enhancing both division employee and member experiences. You’ll lead the charge in strategic planning, using your expertise to craft and execute high-impact strategies across all channels and member segments. Your leadership will foster continuous improvement, ensuring processes are optimized for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Shape Strategic Direction: Collaborate in the development and management of the MDX division’s strategic direction, providing thought leadership and internal consulting for key initiatives.

  • Lead Project Teams: Direct and actively participate in project teams responsible for delivery, system enhancements, and process improvements.

  • Oversee Planning & Budgeting: Lead division-wide strategic planning and budgeting processes, ensuring initiatives align with strategies and deliver impactful outcomes.

  • Implement Standards & Policies: Ensure the effective implementation of standards, policies, and processes, creating productivity measures, metrics, tracking, and reporting to assess overall success.

  • Facilitate Communication: Produce timely and accurate communications that provide leadership, direction, and performance monitoring. Maintain effective communication with all Credit Union employees to ensure coordination and information exchange for achieving goals.

  • Design Programs: Partner with internal and external resources to design and implement programs that support employee and member advocacy.

  • Act as Change Leader: Champion change within and across business units and functions to ensure the success of programs, services, and initiatives.

  • Analyze & Address Needs: Analyze survey results, external market information, and feedback systems to identify and address MDX, employee, and member needs.

  • Manage & Develop Team: Lead a team of Program Managers, providing coaching and mentoring to develop and encourage employee performance. Conduct performance evaluations using BECU competencies as measures.

  • Drive Innovation: Deliver strategic, insightful recommendations that lead to innovation and new value creation.

  • Build Business Cases: Develop business cases for BECU’s program investments based on business and member requirements, competitive landscape, and overall strategy.

  • Build Trust & Advisory Role: Build trust with internal stakeholders and partners as an advisor, showcasing deep knowledge in business lines and delivering on end-to-end strategies.

  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to areas of responsibility, coordinating with other departments and personnel.

  • Manage Vendor Contracts: Oversee vendor contracts, ensuring cost-efficient and quality service for BECU members through third-party assistance.

  • Perform Additional Duties: Moderate travel by car and/or public conveyance for out-of-area or statewide trips.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in business or equivalent work or education-related experience.

  • 10 years of experience in senior-level business strategy and planning at a large-scale financial services organization or consulting firm.

  • 8 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment.

  • 5 years of experience developing and/or facilitating business strategy or business plans.

  • Experience leading high-impact, cross-functional teams in financial services organizations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise in summarizing complex problems and finding viable solutions that translate into actionable plans delivering value.

  • Ability to build business cases based on business and member requirements, competitive landscape, and overall strategy.

  • Ability to build trust with internal stakeholders and partners as an advisor.

  • Certification in project management and business process optimization.

  • Superior presentation skills to communicate data-driven strategic recommendations to peers, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors; ability to craft information into concise stories that engage, inspire, and motivate.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem-solving.

  • Excellent project management, leadership, and negotiation skills.
