Description: A Systems Engineer job working REMOTELY from anywhere in the U.S. is currently available at Belcan. We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on the successful closeout of System-Level Design Reviews (PDE&CDR), Fluids & Propulsion Requirements Compliance Assessment, and the creation of Fluids artifacts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with experience in managing complex projects, tracking action items, and ensuring compliance with subsystem requirements. This role requires close collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are met.

Systems Engineer job duties:

  1. System-Level CDR Closeout:
  • Track and manage all action items and Requests for Action (RFAs) to closure.

  • Ensure all unacceptable component findings are addressed, with documented closures.

  • Communicate with component Responsible Engineers (REs) to incorporate any outstanding updates.

  • Provide guidance to REs to maintain consistency in assessing severities and consequences.

  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Jira for tracking actions.

  • Ensure all deliverables are reviewed and approved.

  1. Fluids & Propulsion Requirements Compliance Assessment:
  • Manage subsystem requirements, including Level 4/Level 5 requirements.

  • Link requirements to existing system-level verification events and assess verification expectations.

  • Identify gaps in existing verification activities and propose new verification activities as needed.

  • Report non-compliant requirements and develop mitigation plans.

  • Track requirements using Jama, and document non-compliant requirements in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ensure all deliverables are reviewed and approved.

  1. Fluids Artifacts Development:
  • Update and decompose requirements from L1 functional requirements to the Fluids component level.

  • Develop Traceability Matrices linking functions to Fluids products and requirements.

  • Update the Fluids Design Data Book, including context, key drivers, architecture, interfaces, mechanical packaging, functional decomposition, and material/process summaries.

  • Track requirements in Jama and provide documentation in Microsoft Word.

  • Ensure all deliverables are reviewed and approved.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor"s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of [7] years of experience in systems engineering with [3] years direct Fluids & Propulsion.

  • Experience with system-level design reviews, including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).

  • Familiarity with systems engineering standards such as INCOSE and NASA"s SE Handbook.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of verification and validation processes.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Jira, Jama, and Microsoft Word.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master"s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).

  • Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining complex requirement traceability matrices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of verification and validation processes.

  • Experience with risk management practices and tools.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $120,000 to $145,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
