Job Description Summary

Lead and contribute to mechanical design projects.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical engineering processes.

Provide technical expertise in the development of new products and product enhancements.

Lead technical design reviews for concept solutions, detail designs, and evaluation results with cross-functional and/or global teams.

Perform design integration, verification, validation, FMEA, reliability, manufacturability and serviceability analysis/ testing.

Understand key business drivers and adhere to GEHC standards, industry standards, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products

  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience.

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree In Mechanical from an accredited university or college

  • Design experience in MRI System development, MRI Coil development and design of MRI Cable traps.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in mechanical design related to medcial devices and / or MRI Devices, project engineering, familiar with plastics, medical grade flexible coatings, MRI cable trap design

  • Expertise with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) ability to use advanced features for tolerance stackup analysis, proper requirements definition

  • Experience with full product cycle from concept to stable production

  • Experience with reliability testing with Weibull Analysis or other Design for Reliability tools

  • Experience with Medical device industry

  • Experience with design of MRI Transmit Coils for multinuclear imaging.

  • Demonstrated program/project planning capability

  • Demonstrated project leadership and influencing skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
