GE Vernova Grid Power Transmission Assistant Controller in Remote, Italy

Job Description Summary

Within Electrification Segment of GE Vernova, Grid Power Transmission mission is to design, manufacture, sell and service high and medium voltage equipment that help customers to decarbonize the grid and expand world electrification.

Grid Power Transmission (PT) is a 7000+ employee business with a network of 17 factories and 40+ service centers. Annual sales are $2Bn+.

The BL Assistant Controller role is a member of Grid and Power Transmission Controllership team within the Electrification segment of GE Vernova. Reporting to the Controller of Power Transmission, this position covers operational and technical controllership duties. This is a key role to monitor accounting processes and to execute month-end and quarter-end closing review procedures.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute key controllership monitor processes including month-end and quarter-end financial statement reviews, account reconciliation audits, quarterly deep-dive into financials, as per Controllership operating mechanism.

  • Analyze commercial arrangements and ensure appropriate application of revenue recognition policies & procedures, including validation of contract set-up in SAP and margin reviews.

  • Work collaboratively with Grid Controllership Global Process Leaders and their in-house and outsourced teams and with PT Finance teams on processes such as Invoice to Cash, Source to Pay, Inventories, Property Plant Equipment, Record to Report, Intercompany, etc.

  • Advise users on accounting policies & procedures, deliver training and update policies.

  • Interact with Business Line commercial, operations, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), finance, treasury, and tax functions.

  • Interface with Grid and Electrification controllership organizations

  • Be a key contact person for internal & external auditors.

  • Be a change agent and support transformation initiatives.

  • Responsible for designing and implementing internal controls over financial reporting, including accounting policy implementations, SOX, process simplification.

  • Serve as controllership expert on financial system and ERP implementations.

  • Explain information; develop skills to bring team to consensus around topics within field.

  • Convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS in finance/accounting from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a controllership/accounting role

  • Deep SAP expertise

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and GE accounting policies and procedures, including practice of ASC606 Revenue Recognition standard.
