Job Description

Reporting into Director, Software Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer will work with internal and external developers responsible for the development and subsequent support of the various platform services components underpinning all the customer facing applications across Norstella. As part of a large technology group, the Senior Software Engineer will work with product management, architecture and other software engineering teams in support of the product development roadmap.
We are looking for an experienced senior software engineer with great communication skills, deep experience in software engineering, and most importantly, the ability and willingness to keep learning in this ever-changing technology landscape.
Education : Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering or related field of study, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities:

Review existing technologies for suitability and make recommendations for change
Requirements:
Excellent understanding of the foundational technologies of the web: HTML, CSS, Javascript (including knowledge of JS frameworks and libraries, jQuery, React), AJAX
5+ years in modern programming languages like C# / .NET Core
5+ years in Software Engineering Experience with service-oriented and/or microservices architecture
3+ years hands-on experience working with cloud technology and various services:
AWS: S3, API Gateway, AWS Lambdas, DynamoDB, RDS
Azure: Blob Storage, API Management, Azure Functions, CosmosDB, Azure SQL Managed Instances
Proficiency with RESTful API and API security frameworks
Experience with Caching Frameworks including Distributed Caching
Advanced knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software systems
Strong investigation, code analysis and code review skills
Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases like PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL, CosmosDB, SQL Server, etc is a big plus
Experience with Data Structures, Algorithms, and general Computer Science concepts
Good understanding of code design principlesand patterns
Experience with Agile development and delivery – Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban methodologies
Experience within pharma/healthcare sector is a plus
Experience with “Test First” (TDD) software development process

Hands on DevOps experience – Terraform, Serverless, AWS Cloud Formation, Azure Front Door, CI/CD in Azure Devops, Security groups, auto scaling etc, Git/GitHub, Monitoring, Log Analytics
