You Are: The Validation Engineer with Platform Debug skills is responsible for developing and executing test plans, writing test cases, and analyzing test results for the Client's products. This includes working with engineers from other teams to identify and fix problems, as well as developing and implementing new test tools and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and firmware, as well as experience with debugging tools and techniques. The Opportunity: Develop and execute test plans. Write test cases and scripts. Stay up-to-date on the latest hardware and software technologies. Train new engineers on validation procedures and tools. Receive and investigate hardware and software problems reported by engineers. Develop and implement debug tools and procedures. Assemble, configure, and test hardware platforms. Install and configure operating systems and software. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on hardware platforms. Document hardware and software configurations. Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues. This job may require on-site support in a high-noise environment, using noise-cancelling headphones. This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required. What you need: Hands-on experience with installing Linux/Windows/VMWare OS, updating drivers. Experience with BIOS/CPLD/FWs/VR/BMC programming, updating chipset drivers. Knowledge about connecting a system in a Network Environment using DHCP/Static IP. Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and firmware. Experience with debugging tools and techniques. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to learn new technologies and procedures. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Physical ability to: Lift up to 25 lbs. 10 times/day. Climb short stairs. Spend most of the time on the floor working on tool sets/servers. Stand/sit/walk for 8 hours. Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below. Role Location: Washington Compensation Range: $68,000-$102,000 Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
