The Web Experience Collective (WXC) is a creative community of designers and researchers on a mission to create and deliver holistic customer experiences while imagining the future of web and Windows experiences. Between Windows, Edge, Bing, and apps, we’re creating end to end web experiences from shopping, to search, to ads, news, sports, and gaming. We are seeking a multi-skilled Senior Product Designer with a mastery of visual design, experience design, interface construction, branding, and storytelling. We’re looking for a designer who’s driven by empathy for customers, and the desire to carry ideas from rough ideas to launch. The right candidate works independently and is a passionate collaborator with other design teams, engineering teams and marketing groups.
Finally, this Senior Product Designer defaults to a making and building mindset – when in doubt we build something and test it. Embracing quick prototyping and testing is a must.

Responsibilities
Contributes to design’s direction for area of accountability and executes design set by others
Leads design on a product with moderate to high visibility, risk, and/or complexity
Develops other team members as a manager, mentor, onboarding buddy, coach, and sets the standard for excellent design
Holds bar for craft across design, Program Management (PM) and Engineering within a major product area
Contributes and partners with other major area leaders to ensure product coherence, erasing organizational boundaries from the experience
Embrace and lead across all of culture models (e.g., demonstrates customer obsession)
Contributes to broader WXC team culture (e.g., mentorship, onboarding buddy, team morale, employee resource groups/clubs)
Understands and acts upon their role in creating a Diversity and Inclusion workplace at Microsoft
Balances actively working on the details and finding time to step back at the bigger picture of the product
Crafts a story around the WHAT, WHY and HOW for their ideas, while demonstrating via work rather than just words

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
5+ years experience working in product or service design
Demonstrated sense of interaction design attuned to the fundamentals of user experience, including accessibility and inclusive design
Project based visual design skills
Effective communication and presentation / storytelling skills, with the ability to energize teams and advocate for your ideas
Experience designing in Figma
Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
