The Strategy & Planning team is a critical function in Devices Finance. We are chartered with driving business growth through assessing opportunity sets, defining & influencing product roadmaps, developing business & pricing models, and supporting partnership/deal initiatives. The team partners across several organizations – engineering, product marketing, business planning, business development, and supply chain.

We are currently hiring for a Senior. Finance Manager to drive financial product planning for a highly strategic product line which plays a pivotal role in the Devices business and is key to broader business success. This impactful role requires business acumen, thought leadership, ability to navigate ambiguity, capability to create frameworks and business models, and partnership across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Be the product finance leader for a designated Surface product line.

  • Partner with the Engineering & Marketing organizations to support end-to-end product planning, profitability strategies and strategic decision making from a well-rounded business perspective.

  • Build robust financial models and decision support frameworks with key partners in engineering and marketing to optimize the profitability of the devices portfolio, guide product roadmap, model opportunities for improvement, develop standard offer assessment frameworks where appropriate to streamline new program offerings

  • Conduct financial analysis and statistical analysis to ensure business and financial success of new offerings from a unit, share, and profitability perspective

  • Present strategic options and analysis to senior level stakeholders including corporate vice presidents (CVPs)

  • Partner with other Surface finance teams to ensure appropriate landing of new offerings in overall finance rythem of business (ROB) (reporting, target setting, budgeting, etc.)

  • Partner as appropriate with other businesses and finance teams, e.g. Windows and Office, to develop enterprise-wide device and service offerings

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in finance, business planning, pricing, or business development.

  • Ability to act as trusted advisor and partner to engineering, marketing, and business planning. Executive maturity and balanced self-awareness.

  • Passion for great work and demonstrated drive. Ability to effectively prioritize across multiple workstreams, have attention to detail, and work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability of operating in ambiguous settings and creating clarity.

  • Courage to share opinions and influence decisions.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
