Supportive Services for Veteran Families

 

SCHEDULE: Full-time

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Oversees supportive services for veteran families program; which provides services for US Military Veteran individuals or families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develops, implements, and evaluates program goals and objectives

  2. Responsible for program reporting as required by funders; reviews all staff reports prior to submission

  3. Builds financial support of programs through assistance with grants and local resource development

  4. Ensures quality of service delivery to community 

  5. Provides direct supervision, evaluation, and support of staff

  6. Compiles HMIS reports for compliance and reporting purposes

  7. Models awareness and behaviors needed for growth and development

  8. Actively leads regular team meetings for the purpose of program consistency, monitoring and effectiveness.

  9. Ensures training for staff on best practice models in service delivery approach

  10. Networks with community agencies/programs across program service areas 

  11. Participates in community-wide events promoting agency and maintains positive public image

  12. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements

  13. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Thorough knowledge of human service community

  2. Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

  3. Excellent verbal and written skills

  4. Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, management of work in a team structure

  5. Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office

  6. Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable; reliable transportation

  7. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).

     

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related degree. College coursework with four years of non-profit social service management experience may count towards education requirement.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Work with homeless, domestic violence, and/or veteran populations. Social services staff supervision preferred.
