Department of Interior Engineering Technician (Engineering Tech) in Rapid City, South Dakota
Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as an Engineering Technician. Make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.
- Drafting and preparing technical reports and documents to be presented for management review and assessment.
- Identifying and evaluating alternative engineering plans for accomplishing project purposes established by engineers.
- Utilizing Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Geographic Information System (GIS) and other computer software to draft and prepare technical products or documents to accomplish engineering-oriented work such as specifications and engineering drawings and designs.
- Inspecting project and construction sites to assess existing conditions and report issues to management.
- Gathering data from instrumentation and engineering equipment to be maintained and updated in geospatial databases.
- Working with and maintaining contacts with higher graded technicians, computer specialists, engineers, geologists and other Area Office Staff to accomplishing duties.
